What is Scratch & Chip Putty?
Scratch & Chip Putty is a tube of fast-drying filler that should be used when the damage on your car’s coat is too deep to just paint over.
When Do I Need to Use the Scratch & Chip Putty?
Use the putty if there are gouges, pits, holes, or deep scratches on the surface of your car. You will need to fill that hole before you put Primer, Paint, & Clearcoat on.
Is Scratch & Chip Putty Like a Polishing Kit?
No. The putty is applied even before the touch up paint is put on your vehicle. The Polishing Kit is used when the Primer, Colorcoat, and Clearcoat have dried.

What Do I Use the Sandpaper For?
Once the gap is safely filled by the putty, you’re going to want to wet sand the area. Fold the sandpaper and dip it into a cup of water. Sand in short, even strokes until the surface is smooth to the touch. For an easy sanding job, continually dip your sandpaper in a cup of water during the process. This will create a smooth surface for you to work on.

Each Scratch & Chip Putty Kit comes with putty, a spreader, and sandpaper.
Do I Need to Mix the Putty Myself?
No. The putty comes ready made. All you need to do is squeeze it out onto a spreader and apply the filler into the gap.
How Do I Use the Scratch & Chip Putty?
Before you start, put on a pair of protective gloves. Wipe away any loose paint, grease, rust or dirt.
Squeeze the putty on to the spreader and apply filler to the gap. Make sure to close the container after you’re done using it!
Use the spreader to smooth the area and remove excess putty. Then wait 30 minutes to dry and you’re ready to start touching up your car’s coat.
