Mini Cooper Touch Up Paint
While the Mini Cooper and the Mini Cooper S were sportier versions on the Mini, they carried enough power to win many rallies, eminently four times at the Monte Carlos Rally. The power came from very precise elements of the design, the unibody which made the car lighter and the front wheel drive. The Mini model Cooper and Cooper S all featured accessories that the other models offered as options. Those options comprised many modern features that are now considered mandatory like seat belts, door mirrors, radio and heaters.
Throughout the 1980’s and 90’s, the Mini strayed from mass-production to launch a series of limited edition cars. This change made the car more of a fashion accessory than an everyday passenger car. This shift in the brand's image is what prompted BMW to buy the brand through the purchase of the Rover Group. Also, it's at that time that most of the production was exported to Japan where the car proved popular as a retro icon.
The Mini was also featured in 1969's movie, and its 2003 remake, The Italian Job as an important part of the movie. The car was used in an intricate car chase through the Italian subway tunnels. We bet that they would have loved to have TouchUpDirect's color matching touch up pen on hand during the shoot. Our Mini Cooper touch up paint is easy to use and eco-friendly, simply the best available on the market today.
What tools do I need for a Mini Cooper touch up paint job?
To create the best looking coat for your vehicle, we recommend the following:
PRIMER, COLOR, AND CLEARCOAT - It goes without saying that you need paint to do a touch up paint job. Clearcoat provides a thin protective layer for your paint job while Primer is required for damage that has reached the original base material.
WAX AND GREASE REMOVER CLOTH - The wax and grease remover cloth is used to remove wax, grease, and contaminants before painting.
SANDPAPER - Wet-sanding the affected area removes rust and prepares the surface with a rough finish so the paint can stick better.
POLISHING COMPOUND - The polishing compound smooths everything out with a factory-grade finish.
These tools are all available with our Platinum kit but can be purchased separately on the TouchUpDirect website.
