Mitsubishi Touch Up Paint
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is part of a much larger Japanese conglomerate, the Mitsubishi Group. The latter was in operation for many years before it started in the automotive industry. Interestingly enough, the first time the brand dipped its foot into car making was in 1917 through the Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. The sedan that resulted from this attempt was completely hand-made resulting in exorbitant production costs. For this reason the model was discontinued soon after and Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co merged with Mitsubishi Aircraft Co in 1934. The resulting company, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, resumed their car ambition in 1937 with a model destined for the Japanese military. Following World War II, the company was dismantled in three regional entities by the allied forces.
By the time the sixties rolled in, the family car segment in Japan was taking off and Mitsubishi introduced the 500, a mass-market sedan. Soon after this, Chrysler bought a 15% share of the company and started licensing Mitsubishi to build the Dodge Colt in the U.S. and the Chrysler Sigma in Australia. It is not before 1982 that Mitsubishi set foot in America under its own name. Eventually, in the early 1990’s, Chrysler divested itself in the company. Over the years, the brand made a couple more associations with foreign car makers, namely Daimler-Chrysler, Volvo, Peugeot and others.
Nowadays, Mitsubishi is one of the top 10 auto manufacturers in Japan and it deserves the best touch up paint on the market. TouchUpDirect offers exact color match for all Mitsubishi models and years in easy to use formats.
What tools do I need for a Mitsubishi touch up paint job?
To create the best looking coat for your vehicle, we recommend the following:
PRIMER, COLOR, AND CLEARCOAT - It goes without saying that you need paint to do a touch up paint job. Clearcoat provides a thin protective layer for your paint job while Primer is required for damage that has reached the original base material.
WAX AND GREASE REMOVER CLOTH - The wax and grease remover cloth is used to remove wax, grease, and contaminants before painting.
SANDPAPER - Wet-sanding the affected area removes rust and prepares the surface with a rough finish so the paint can stick better.
POLISHING COMPOUND - The polishing compound smooths everything out with a factory-grade finish.
These tools are all available with our Platinum kit but can be purchased separately on the TouchUpDirect website.
