Isuzu Touch Up Paint
Isuzu is mostly a commercial vehicle and truck manufacturer. As with other established Japanese businesses, Isuzu started making cars as a way to expand their business. The company was originally named Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co and the first prototypes were a result of an association with the Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co. However, the real step forward came with the partnership with Wolseley Motors Limited in 1918. The agreement signed allowed Ishikawajima to produce the Wolseley under license for the East Asian market.
After furthering their knowledge of the automotive industry, the company built their first bus prototype in 1935. This bus featured air brakes and an engine mounted under the floor. The company officially took the name Isuzu in 1949 and developed an affinity with the design of diesel engines. The lack of immediate prosperity in Japan could be explained by the Japanese predilection for smaller cars. As a response, they concentrated on the medium and heavy truck market.
During the following decades the company underwent a lot of changes in alliances and partnerships. Alternatively signing deals with Subaru, Mitsubishi and Nissan until an alliance with General Motors proved more effective for the company. This new cooperation allowed Isuzu to develop the small truck business as well as expand their market in the United States. At first, they were exporting vehicles under the GM brand names. In 1981 Isuzu started selling their own branded consumer and commercial vehicles in the United States.
In the Asian market, the brand discontinued its line of diesel cars in the late 90's. From then on, the company was only selling its trucks, SUVs and commercial vehicles on this territory. Their withdraw from the North American market came in 2009.

What tools do I need for a Isuzu touch up paint job?
To create the best looking coat for your vehicle, we recommend the following:
PRIMER, COLOR, AND CLEARCOAT - It goes without saying that you need paint to do a touch up paint job. Clearcoat provides a thin protective layer for your paint job while Primer is required for damage that has reached the original base material.
WAX AND GREASE REMOVER CLOTH - The wax and grease remover cloth is used to remove wax, grease, and contaminants before painting.
SANDPAPER - Wet-sanding the affected area removes rust and prepares the surface with a rough finish so the paint can stick better.
POLISHING COMPOUND - The polishing compound smooths everything out with a factory-grade finish.
These tools are all available with our Platinum kit but can be purchased separately on the TouchUpDirect website.
