5 Motorcycle Obsessed Celebrities

We absolutely love motorcycles here at TouchUpDirect. We also love a celebrity that loves a motorcycle. We covered a few celebs with bikes when we wrote about famous people that chose Honda motorcycles, but we thought we’d widen the parameter a bit. Here are 5 celebrities and their favorite motorcycles.
Keanu Reeves
One of the greatest action stars of all time, it’s no surprise that Keanu Reeves knows his way around a bike. But did you know the star of Point Break and The Matrix has his very own motorcycle company? Reeves co-founded ARCH Motorcycle Company in 2011 with motorcycle customizer, Gard Hollinger. These gorgeous bikes aren’t just seen on the road, you can even drive futuristic ARCH motorcycles in the video game, Cyberpunk 2077. Reeves also has an incredible motorcycle collection. In addition to several ARCH motorcycles, the collection contains a variety of bikes from an El Diablo West Coast Chopper to a 1974 BMW R75/6 to the 2004 Ducati 998 Matrix Reloaded Edition that Trinity drove in The Matrix Reloaded.

Queen Latifah
When production began on a tv reboot of The Equalizer, stunt coordinators were wary of whether or not they should allow their star on a motorcycle. They needn’t have worried. Queen Latifah has been riding motorcycles since she was known as Dana Owens of Newark, New Jersey. She learned in an underground parking garage going round and round in first gear but once she got the bug, the iconic rapper, singer, and actress became a lifetime aficionado. Queen Latifah drives a number of motorcycles in her films and music videos but she’s been photographed by paparazzi on a purple and yellow Honda CBR900 and a pink and blue Honda CBR600. Entertainment Tonight reported that she owns five motorcycles and two vespas. There is also a tinge of sadness to this hobby as she lost her beloved brother, Lancelot, in a motorcycle accident in 1992. They often rode together and Queen Latifah has continued with their shared passion.

Ewan McGregor
When he was a teenager, the future Obi-Wan Kenobi walked into a Ducati dealership and fell deeply in love. The object of his affection? A customized 1973 Moto Guzzi. This first encounter kicked off a lifetime obsession and love for motorcycles that eventually took Ewan McGregor all over the world. McGregor’s collection includes several Moto Guzzis, including the motorcycle he’s called “one the most beautiful bikes ever built”: 1972 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport. An Indian Larry Chopper, a 1952 BSA Bantam D1, and a 1956 Sunbeam S7 are also confirmed to be in his collection. Ewan McGregor’s great motorcycle legacy, however, will likely be the Long Way Round series. In 2004, McGregor and Charley Boorman took a trip from London to New York on BMW motorcycles, going through 12 countries and almost 19,000 miles. They once again used motorcycles given to them by BMW in the sequel, Long Way Down (traveling from Scotland to Cape Town). Their third outing, Long Way Up, saw the crew do something a little different. For their trip from Tierra del Fuego to California, they chose electric Harley-Davidson bikes to traverse the 13,000 mile route. More than 20 years later, McGregor and Co. are still at it. In 2024, Apple TV+ announced a new season that would see the pair taking the long route from Scotland to London, this time on vintage motorcycles.

Cher
Cher may be a surprising name to appear on this list. I mean, how do you balance on a motorcycle with those giant Bob Mackie headdresses? But Cher has been on motorcycles for her entire life. Her first ride was on a Harley-Davidson when she was 14 and she has stayed remarkably loyal to the company. The If I Could Turn Back Time singer has ridden in several Harley parades including one on Rodeo Drive in 1994. While the contents of her collection have been kept quiet, people have identified her motorcycle from the Rodeo Drive parade as a ‘94 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. Although rumors that she’s sold her bikes abound, Cher is still very much a motorcycle aficionado. She even turned up at the premiere of Jeff Nichols’ biker film, The Bikeriders, head to toe in leather.

Steve McQueen
The late Steve McQueen would be a motorcycle legend even if he wasn’t an aficionado thanks to the incredible jump on a Triumph Trophy TR6 in The Great Escape. But Steve McQueen also loved anything on wheels, especially motorcycles. Using the alias, “Harvey Mushman”, McQueen even competed in many off-road races like the Baja 1000, the Mint 400, and the Elsinore Grand Prix. He was also a member of the first American team to ever compete in the Silver Vase category of the International Six Days Trial (ISDT). When racing McQueen used a BSA Hornet or a mix of Triumph motorcycles, but he had many more in his collection. After his death, McQueen’s son noted that he had about 100 classic motorcycles including a 1912 Indian Single, a 1938 Triumph 500cc 5T Speed Twin, a 1933 Matchless Silver Hawk, and a 1939 Nimbus 750cc Model C Luxus Combination. He also had a Triumph Trophy, the same bike to make the big jump in The Great Escape.
