Eagle Touch Up Paint
At a time when General Motors launched the Saturn brand in an effort to compete against the Asian vehicles on the market, Chrysler had to react somehow. The first idea of the company was to launch a brand with innovative design and fabrication methods. As this idea never came into fruition, Chrysler's next attempt was to cater to the performance car enthusiast. The first Eagle models sold by Chrysler were AMC models inherited with the acquisition of the organization that were not redistributed among the company's other brands.
Chrysler settled with the name Eagle because it was the last American Motors model completely designed in the U.S., before the partnership with French automaker Renault. Unlike other Chrysler corporation brands, the Eagle cars featured their own eagle head logo. Although the first two Eagle models, the Premier and the Medallion, were brought over from AMC, most of the other models were in fact re-branded models from Chrysler's other car companies.
The fact remains that Eagle was a short lived brand. Many factors must be taken into account as to why the brand was discontinued so soon after its introduction to the market but mostly, the lack of investments from Chrysler into the development of unique models is the primary factor. Since Eagle primarily offered re-badged models, the brand competed internally with the other Chrysler brands instead of reaching Toyota or Honda customers. Also, since American Motors were bought by Chrysler, Eagle stayed in the shadows of the more popular Jeep. The two brands were paired in the dealerships and the investments in marketing were mostly spent on the latter brand.

What tools do I need for a Eagle touch up paint job?
To create the best looking coat for your vehicle, we recommend the following:
PRIMER, COLOR, AND CLEARCOAT - It goes without saying that you need paint to do a touch up paint job. Clearcoat provides a thin protective layer for your paint job while Primer is required for damage that has reached the original base material.
WAX AND GREASE REMOVER CLOTH - The wax and grease remover cloth is used to remove wax, grease, and contaminants before painting.
SANDPAPER - Wet-sanding the affected area removes rust and prepares the surface with a rough finish so the paint can stick better.
POLISHING COMPOUND - The polishing compound smooths everything out with a factory-grade finish.
These tools are all available with our Platinum kit but can be purchased separately on the TouchUpDirect website.
