Meet the Car Colors of 2025!
Every year we get a new crop of updated, upgraded, and new vehicles from the major car brands. While we love the implementation of a heated seat as much as the next person, we’re paint color fanatics. It’s a new year and we want some new paint codes! A brassy new color or the return of a classic, unretired shade is like Christmas to us. We’ll even get hyped when a color option expands to different models. Luckily, the car paint gods have been good this year and we’re dealing with some absolutely gorgeous hues. Let’s take a look at just a few of the fabulous colors worn by the class of 2025.
Passionate Purple
These 2025 cars are absolutely drenched in all different shades of purple. Traditionally the color of royalty, these car companies are out to make you feel like a monarch. Porsche’s Provence color was introduced in 2024 and is as pale a purple as the famous Provençal lavender fields. That lovely lavender color makes quite the contrast with the intense shade of Chevrolet’s Hysteria Purple, which is exactly what it sounds like. This fierce electric purple looks right at home on the Corvette. On the other side of Chevy purples, we’ve got Night Shade Metallic. So subtle that you’re not even sure if it’s purple, this shade shifts depending on the light. Subaru also has a new purple color for 2025 called the Galaxy Purple Pearl. A tranquil and dark shade, the Galaxy Purple made its debut on the WRX and BRZ.
An Ocean of Blue and Green
Let’s start with Honda’s gorgeous Blue Lagoon Pearl. This delightful dusky blue color made its debut for the 2025 season. Cadillac also released two colors for the CT4 for 2025. While Typhoon Metallic is a fascinating viridian like shade, Deep Space Metallic is gray with blue undertones. This gives it a dark navy tint so intense, it’s hard to tell if the car is actually gray or blue. There are a couple of colors this year where the tint gives it a completely different color. Both Chevy’s Cypress Gray and Verde Silver Metallic from Mercedes Benz start with a neutral color (grey and silver respectively) and use a green tint to give it a little oomph. Like we said, an ocean of blue and green. Speaking of oceans, we’ve got at least two colors this year named for bodies of water: Acura’s Adriatic Sea Blue Metallic and Cadillac’s Aegean Stone. The Adriatic shade is a deep sapphire while the Aegean is more of a deep green gray. These are just a tiny portion of the incredible blue and green colors released this year. It’s a good time to be a fan of those colors!
Roaring Red, Opulent Orange, and Mellow Yellow
Meet the Vegas Red Metallic from BMW. A shiny fire truck red, this color more than lives up to its brassy namesake. Meanwhile, Corvette is bringing back two fan favorite colors: Sebring Orange and Competition Yellow Metallic. Previously discontinued, these bright and bold shades replace Amplify Orange and Accelerate Yellow respectively. Porsche also introduced a new yellow for 2025, though a much different color than its Corvette sister. The Cartagena Yellow is inspired by the yellow house facades in Cartagena, Colombia. Its bright and pale color is a unique shade that will stand out in traffic.
Color of the Year (Brown)
When Pantone announced their 2025 color of the year, a great deal of the public reacted with deep confusion. Mocha Mousse? Her? In the year of BRAT green? It’s still a beauty of a color and a few car companies look remarkably prescient with brown 2025 colors. Sand Dune Pearl from Honda is also much lighter than the Mocha Mousse, being more of a crocodile brown. And Latte Metallic? Well, Cadillac’s coffee named hue is…also not as dark as Mocha Mousse. Perhaps 2026 will bring us mocha colored cars but these pretty brown shades will do well for now.
The Classics
We seem to have enough good black, silver, and gray shades that we don’t need new ones, but there are a few interesting additions in 2025. Porsche is updating their slate grey color for the year with the Slate Grey Neo. A pure grey with no visible undertones, this color has a flat, matte look without actually being a matte paint. The big gray story of the year, however, is Turbonite. A collaboration with Porsche and Pantone, this color is a “metallic gray infused with subtle gold and bronze tones”. Finish that off with a satin matte and you’ve got a stunning shade. Just based on the name, we’re guessing this cool color will be found on the Porsche Turbos.
