Video Ride of V4 Superleggera at Laguna Seca | TouchUpDirect
See Ducati’s most exclusive bike on a track
As part of the October 26 Ducati REVS track day event, I got the opportunity to ride two Ducati bikes at the Laguna Seca Raceway.
Joining my friends, motorcycle racer Errol Sullivan and his father John Sullivan who owns Beverly Hills Ducati, I visited the track for the day. For this special event, I brought two special bikes – my V4 Superleggera and a new V4 Streetfighter with only 100 miles on it.
Part one of my videos shares my ride on the Superleggera V4, which was a bit nerve wracking because of the exclusivity of the bike (only 500 made). It would be impossible to replace if it is destroyed in a wreck. Part two shares my ride on my new Streetfighter.
For the SL ride, I prepared my bike for the track by putting on Pirelli slick tires to improve traction, removing turn signals to cut down on weight and drag, and adding race tape to protect its finish. I also mounted several GoPros to record the ride, using a V4evo mounting adaptor for the one on my triple clamps.
Before my ride on the Superleggera V4, I took a quick look around the pit at other bikes while my tires warmed up.
On my ride, I take a few warm up laps before the real full speed laps start around the 6:00 mark. You can see how much race tape I put on the bike by checking it out at the 14:00 mark.
