Ducati Superleggera V4 and V4R on the Dyno!
The Ducati Superleggera V4 and the V4R are both rated at an incredible 234 horsepower, but which one wins in real life? I went to find out by testing them head-to-head on a Dyno.
On the day of the test, conditions are hot in the San Fernando Valley. It was 104 degrees air temperature, so we expected less horsepower than on a cooler day. For our test we went to Shorty’s Performance in North Hollywood. For the test, all runs were in 5th gear, all were SAE corrected and all run on pump 91 octane fuel.
Result of the test
For the Ducati V4 Superleggera:
199.76 HP first run in Race Mode B
201.5 HP on second run in Race Mode B
201.59 HP on third run in Race Mode A
For the Ducati V4R:
196.64 HP on the first run
195.6 HP on the second run
198.99 HP on the third run
The max horsepower between the bikes was very close as expected, within 2 horsepower, with the SL slightly winning out.
Additional notes:
We used SAE-corrected numbers. The STD numbers are 3-4 horsepower higher, but we chose SAE because it’s more standardized.
