Mercedes C43 AMG Touch Up Project | TouchUpDirect

Thanks to the Mercedes-Benz Club, we’re going to be doing a little touch-up scratch with a C-43 AMG Mercedes-Benz.

For this project, we use the Touch Up Direct Combo of Mercedes-Benz Black, a clear coat, the wax and grease remover and polishing compound.

As always, check the color with the test card before proceeding.

We’ve assessed that this scratch is not down to bare metal, so it does not need to have a primer. We’re just going to use the pen side of the TouchUpDirect Combo and apply color.

Very light coat, trying to keep the paint within the scratch. We’ll let that dry for a few minutes and then coat it one more time. And we’ll let that dry.

Now that I’ve checked to see that there’s good coverage, I’m going to apply a clear coat. Again, using the pen side of the TouchUpDirect Combo. Very lightly, only add exactly to where the paint was applied. Let it dry.

Final coat of clear. We’re going to stay exactly on the clear coat that we applied before. Very lightly. Just dab it on. Then we’ll let it dry and be ready for polish.

Now that the paint is dry for 24 hours, we’re going to apply a little polishing compound to smooth it out nicely and that’s how you touch up a small scratch for the car.
